—Muuuuuuuuuuu.

LIVING HEMINGWAY.

Miguel Angel Gonzalez Maestre

As I stand against the table looking out I can see the people through the windows.
They are getting ready for the running of the bulls, calling for help to the Saint…
With a passionate song…

“Saint Fermin we beseech you…”

While the barman put a cup of coffee on the table, I mumble disdainfully…

“Bullfighting is the only art in which
the artist is in danger of death…” (1)

It doesn’t matter how many times you observe this ritual, the meaning of the words, or even the voices.
Eventually, the beatings of your heart is gonna be the only feeling that really matters…
I mumble again…

“I can’t be late!
I need to live out my dream!”

Coming back to the real world, I drink my coffee in a rush while getting up, but then someone grabs my left arm…

“Be careful…
My young journalist…
Don’t be cheated by nonsense… Cause…”

It is the barman again. He is holding my camera and showing a bright smile on his face.

“Nobody ever lives their life… All the way up…
Except bullfighters…” (2)
